Melissa is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) and Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) with a Master of Counselling degree from Gonzaga University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of British Columbia Okanagan. Her approach to counselling is grounded in compassion, curiosity, and respect. She strives to create a welcoming and non-judgmental space where clients feel safe, heard, and supported as they explore their experiences and work toward meaningful change.
Melissa has experience working with youth, young adults, and adults as they navigate life transitions, personal challenges, and emotional and mental well-being. She recognizes that each individual brings their own unique experiences, strengths, and needs to the counselling process. She takes a collaborative approach, working alongside clients to better understand their experiences, build self-awareness, and identify meaningful ways to move forward.
Melissa values continued learning and professional growth and is committed to expanding her knowledge and developing her clinical skills throughout her career. She regularly engages in professional development to deepen her understanding of different therapeutic approaches and client experiences, allowing her to provide thoughtful, individualized care that is responsive to each client’s unique needs.
Outside of the counselling room, Melissa enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading, cooking, and exploring the Okanagan. She loves getting outside and discovering new places, whether that means enjoying the beauty of the Okanagan, trying a new coffee shop, or finding a new adventure to explore. She values making time for the people, activities, and experiences that bring joy and balance to her life.
