Jacklyn is an Orthotics Prosthetics Canada (OPC) Certified Prosthetist/Orthotist with over 10 years’ experience in the industry, she started her career in Northern Alberta where she saw a wide variety of workplace related accidents, the complexity of these injuries has helped broaden her skill set. She has also worked closely with the pediatric population in Northern Alberta and Kamloops prior to moving back home to the Okanagan. Since moving back to the Okanagan she has worked more closely with the geriatric and diabetic populations helping to improve quality of life and mobility. Jacklyn is an OPC certified practitioner, is an allied health professional who is specifically educated and clinically trained to manage the provision of comprehensive orthotic and prosthetic care, based upon a detailed clinical biomechanical assessment, to restore physiological function and/or cosmesis. Is experienced in a wide variety of custom-made or customized fit orthotic and prosthetic devices, including: -Spinal orthotics for management of scoliosis -Other spinal pathologies, neurological disorders -Orthoses (ankle foot orthotics, knee ankle foot orthotics) used to offset these deficiencies -Upper extremity orthoses -Sports/arthritic knee bracing -A wide variety of custom-made foot orthotic designs all based on specific patient needs. Specializes in providing prosthetic care to a wide range of amputees, from pediatrics to the sports enthusiast to our more senior population
In her free time Jacklyn enjoys a variety of outdoor activities such as hiking, camping and fishing with her young son and family. She was raised in the Okanagan, and her love of the Okanagan Valley was part of what drove her to open Action Orthotics & Prosthetics to help offer enhanced prosthetic & orthotic services throughout the South Okanagan, better servicing the medical needs of the community. Jacklyn has also been known to take on the occasional pet project, making a custom ACL knee brace or prosthetic for a dog in need.
